About

Most businesses don't have a people problem. They have a design problem wearing a people costume.

Axarata is a strategic advisory practice working at the intersection of workforce strategy, organizational design, and AI-enabled operations. The premise is simple: the constraints that limit an established business are almost always structural, and structure is something you can change on purpose.

The reframe

Where the depth comes from

This practice was built by someone who spent years inside business consulting & staffing — industries that runs on volume, margin discipline, and the constant tension between speed and quality. That background matters, but not as an identity.

It matters because staffing is an unforgiving laboratory for operations. Every inefficiency shows up in the same week: a slow intake becomes a lost placement, a vague requirement becomes a bad submission, a broken handoff becomes a client conversation nobody wants to have. You learn to read an operation quickly, because the feedback loop is measured in days.

Axarata is not a staffing firm and does not place people. The industry provided the pattern library; the work is advisory.

How Chris thinks

Systems first, then people, then tools

The first question in any engagement is never "what should we buy." It's "what is this system optimized for right now?" Businesses reliably get what their structure rewards — even when leadership wants something else and says so loudly.

The second question is about sequence. Most failed transformations are not wrong about the destination; they're wrong about the order, and they run out of organizational patience three steps before the payoff.

Pattern recognition does the rest. The same handful of failure modes show up across wildly different industries: coordination work disguised as roles, decisions with no owner, tools bought before problems were defined, and reporting that measures activity because outcomes are harder to instrument.
